Download Origin:

• This is the download manager from Electronic Arts. It’s NOT the same as the old EA download manager.
• Origin works similar to Steam, you have to have it running if you want to play the game
• Download URL: http://www.origin.com/download
• On console, the Beta will appear on the PlayStation Network Store and Xbox Live Marketplace.

Get an Origin Account

• This is done when using Origin

Get the Beta:

• For the early Access you need a key
• Starting from the 29. September, you simply open Origin, go “Store” -> “Demo Section” -> install BF 3 Beta

Setup your Battlelog Account

Download newest NVidia drivers

• There is a new GeForce driver (beta) for the BF3 Beta. It works for me, not sure if there are any known issues with it, I also don’t know, if it has really a batter performance… but you better try it

There is a cool mod called “Saw Disc Axe mod” in Dead Island.

You can get it from a side quest called “Second Aid” in Act III, the jungle. On a bridge, you find a woman, trying to hide under a car while the zombies try to eat her.

After you killed all the zombies, she talks to you. She was on her way to bring medical supplies to the village in the middle of the jungle map, when she was attacked. She also tells you that she was bitten, so she will not bring the supplies to the village anymore, as she is afraid to kill her friends when she turns into  a zombie.

This is what she asks you to do: collect the 5 crates, bring them to her friends. In return you get the Saw Disc Axe mod.

The video below explains what to do, because on your way, you meet Jason… a MEAN zombie who is hard to defend without using the fury mode.

At the beginning of the video you also see the saw disc mod. It’s used for example with baseball bats, attaches a saw disc on top of it. This results in the ability to inflict “bleeding” when doing a critical hit. Bleeding means additional damage for several seconds, looks “nice” and is pretty effective against normal zombies.

This video shows some more of the Dead Islan’s weapons: Shock ristol/rifle Old Smoky mod (amazing!), Magic Wand, Barbed Wire, Heavy mod.

The heavy mod makes hammers etc stronger, the impact values are greater… which means, enemies are turned when you hit them, they are more likely to hit the ground or at least get disoriented.

Barbed Wire has the “bleeding” ability: A critical hit inflicts bleeding (by cutting a huge scratch into the enemy’s body), this inflicts additional damage for several seconds (and it looks mean ).

Magic Wand is a mod for big hammers like the sledge hammer. It gives additional electric damage, where the critical hit makes the enemies scream and dance around (watch the video, it’s cool!).

Old smoky mod is similar to Magic wand, but with a greater chance for a critical hit, more additional damage and it’s for cut weapons, like machete, sitchel etc.

Shock pistol (or shock rifle, shock shotgun) are again similar electric mods, but the cirtical chance is lower (which is compensated through the greater range and the higher rate of fire). All can be seen in the video beloooow:

In Act I there’s a mission where you need to find the missing husband of a wife. In the laaaast bungalow out in the sea on the right you find him… together with 4 girls, having a nice sex party (it seems at least, as you find also some drugs there ).

However: one of the girls, Svetlana promises that you get “hwatever you want” from her, if you bring her champagne. It’s an ongoing quest, you can bring her champagne as often as you want, you will always receive 500 diamonds.

So… and what abotu the sex? Watch the video to see, what you get from her, beside the diamonds…

This video is the first in a series of some videos about the weapon mods in Dead Island.

In Dead Island you find a lot pistol and rifle ammo in Act II (the city and the jungle). Revolver and shotgun ammo is hard to find and expensive to buy. But you can craft it yourself, this video shows where to find the recipe.

The video below explains how you reach the second loudspeaker tower in the Dead Island Mission “The First Head Of Cerberus”… plus it shows two major fails during gameplay: 1) don#t use FURY if you are attacked and 2) think before you throw grenades .
